Case 4

Concerns:
A clicking and uncomfortable TM (jaw) joint that embarrassed this patient when chewing in public and increasing wear to her top front tooth resulting in a grayish, translucent appearance the patient found unattractive

Evaluation:
A functional analysis determined that during normal chewing her top front teeth and bottom front teeth were colliding, causing pressure on the TM joint and excessive wear to her top front teeth.

Solution:
We took an integrated Bio-functional approach to solve her problems. Orthodontic treatment moved the upper teeth out of the way during chewing reducing the TMJ discomfort and click. We created a more pleasing smile by placing porcelain veneers on her front teeth and porcelain crowns on her back teeth. The result made our patient feel great about the way she looked while at the same time she felt more confident and comfortable
