Preventive Care
We believe that prevention goes a long way towards helping our patients achieve their goals of long-term dental health. We place strong emphasis on pro actively working with our patients to minimize the effects of tooth decay, gum disease and functional jaw problems.
We believe that all patients should be evaluated on a regular basis best determined by their individual care needs. While most patients are seen every 6 months for routine prophylaxis, some may need to be seen more often. Our hygienists are well educated and highly skilled in the latest soft-tissue management techniques where gum problems can frequently be treated using conservative debridement techniques (scaling and root planing) and/or the latest in antibacterial (Arestin) and antimicrobial (PerioChip) therapy.
Also, we use the Diagnodent, a painless laser device to detect cavities not seen by X-ray or clinical examination. This allows us to treat these early areas of decay conservatively, oftentimes using air abrasion instead of the routine drilling procedures.
